As the financial struggles of FC Barcelona continue to loom over them, the club continues to find alternatives to everything. Even when they seem to be linked to any potentially expensive target, the solution is typically a low-cost alternative or a youth player. After all, Barcelona needs to focus on maintaining a balance between their sporting quality and financial stability.

However, despite this faith in the youth, Barcelona can not guarantee first team minutes to every single player. While the likes of Marc Bernal continue to impress with the first team this season, there are others whose place in the same team looks to be in much more jeopardy.

One such example is Alex Valle, the 20-year-old Barcelona fullback who returned from his loan at Levante this summer and was initially assured of a place in the first team while also managing to impress the coach. However, that place looks to be on the bench and it is believed that both Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin possibly remain ahead of him in Hansi Flick’s eyes.

That is why, as reported by Fabrizio Romano recently, the player is set to leave the club on loan this summer. First, according to the update from the Italian journalist, the player will renew his current contract with the club until 2026, extending the expiration from 2025 to a year later.

After that, the player looks set to join Scottish side Celtic who play in the First Division of their country and remain one of the most dominant teams in their league. For Valle, it could be a good opportunity to get regular playing time with a strong team playing for big achievements.

However, it could undoubtedly cause some tension at some point due to the fact that he was on loan last season and is being sent away on a loan once again despite his impressive preseason showings against the likes of Real Madrid. Ultimately, however, it is a decision that seems to have been agreed upon between all parties concerned.
