Barcelona’s decision to make a U-turn on their desire to offload Mika Faye this summer may have served as a breath of fresh air to many.

However, despite Hansi Flick’s approval, Faye’s future at Barcelona is far from certain and the player continues to be linked with a move away from Camp Nou.

Faye’s demand to Barcelona

A recent report from Diario AS has offered a crucial update on the future of Mika Faye and his growing demands for Barcelona.

As per the report, Faye is far from convinced of Barcelona’s desire to give him minutes in the coming season despite the fact that Hansi Flick wants him to give the player a chance during pre-season.

Keeping that in mind, Faye is demanding Barcelona guarantee him regular minutes if he is to continue at Camp Nou.

Barcelona, though, are not in a position to guarantee him regular minutes due to multiple reasons, including a stacked defensive unit.

Faye’s future remains uncertain

The report adds that the Barcelona management is growing tired of Faye’s demands and believe they are unreasonable.

The Senegalese international, after all, is yet to prove himself at the highest level of football. Yet, the player wants Barça to guarantee him regular minutes – in a team chock-full of defensive talents such as Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi and Jules Kounde.

Meanwhile, Faye’s agents are also working day and night to try and find him new proposals from other clubs – something that might not go down well with Barcelona either.

Keeping all these things in mind, Faye’s future at Barcelona still remains unresolved and it won’t be surprising to see the young defender leaving Camp Nou this summer.
