If Barcelona are to make it three La Liga title wins in a row during the 2026-27 season, they will need to keep Raphinha fit. The Brazilian winger missed large parts of the previous campaign after injuring his hamstring on several occasions, while he also suffered a recurrence during Brazil’s 2026 World Cup victory over Haiti earlier this summer.
Raphinha was one of Barcelona’s standout players during their successful 2024-25 campaign, but due to being in-and-out of the team due to injury, he struggled to make the same impact during last season. The feeling from within Can Barca is that Real Madrid will significantly improve due to the arrival of Jose Mourinho and several new signings, so the Catalans must be at their best to continue reigning supreme in Spain – while they will also be desperate to end their 11-year wait for a Champions League title.
Keeping Raphinha fit will go a long way to helping Barcelona have another successful season, which is why Hansi Flick has demanded that the 29-year-old undergo a “personalised and specific plan for him to regain physical strength and playing habits”, as per MD.
Raphinha will join up with the Barcelona squad this week during their pre-season camp in England. He will immediately start on his individual plan, with a view to being at 100% by the time the Catalans face Elche (23/08) in their first match of the 2026-27 season.
He will hope to be ready to start that match, but the important thing is that his minutes are managed in order to keep him fit and fresh throughout the season – and doing this will be much easier thanks to the signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, both of whom are capable of acting as backups on the left side of attack.
