On Thursday in Monaco, Lamine Yamal became the second youngest player to score in the Champions League, further solidifying Barcelona’s dominance in developing young talents.

Yamal, at just 17 years, 2 months, and 6 days, stepped into the spotlight with his goal, making history as he moved up the ranks. The only player younger than him to find the net in the competition is none other than Ansu Fati.

Ansu set the record back in December 2019, when he scored against Inter Milan at 17 years, 1 month, and 9 days, securing his place as the youngest goalscorer in the Champions League.

Who are the other youngsters?

Barcelona’s ability to continually produce young talents like Yamal and Fati ensures their future is bright, with each generation contributing to the club’s success on Europe’s grandest stage.

What stands out is that five Barcelona players are currently in the top 15 youngest Champions League scorers. Alongside Yamal and Fati, Bojan Krkic is another notable name on this illustrious list.

Bojan, who made his mark at 17 years, 7 months, and 4 days, sits in the eighth position. Pedri, one of Barcelona’s key players, follows in 14th place. He found the back of the net when he was 17 years, 10 months, and 25 days old.

Rounding out the top 15 is Marc Guiu, whose goal at 17 years, 11 months, and 9 days further cements Barcelona’s rich history of young scorers in the competition.

But it doesn’t stop with these five. Barcelona’s long-standing tradition of nurturing young talent includes other notable names.

Players like Lionel Messi, Javier Saviola, Giovanni Dos Santos, and Sergi Roberto all found the net in the Champions League before turning 20.
