FC Barcelona have the most potent attack in world football so far this season. The Catalan club simply cannot stop scoring goals, averaging more than three per game. What this ensures is that their games are always entertaining, irrespective of the result.
This was evident last night against Atletico Madrid where the game ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Barcelona conceded four but they also managed to score four which showcased their immense attacking quality this season.
Much of the attacking power this season has come through the immense form of players like Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and even Ferran Torres off the bench. The team has also improved from set-pieces, as was evident last night.
Two players who have become assist-machines so far this season are Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. As per Mundo Deportivo, the duo is leading among Spanish clubs for the most assists provided so far this season.
Lamine and Raphinha have provided 31 assists combined so far this season, including three last night, which is 12 more than the second best duo – Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham who have provided 19 so far.
Barcelona’s significantly high number of goals is directly attributed to the effectiveness with which this duo creates chances and in all fairness, Pedri should also have many more assists had his chances been taken by the attackers.
Raphinha has recorded assists in every single competition that Barcelona have been a part of this season, while Lamine only missed out on providing an assist in the Spanish Super Cup that the team won early in January.
If the duo can continue creating at a similar rate, Barcelona could be on course for a historic season in their history. Let’s wait and see how things play out for the club going forward and how Lamine Yamal and Raphinha play in the time to come.
