FC Barcelona did not just end the year as La Liga leaders; they did so with 169 goals scored in 60 official matches.

It is a number that immediately places this team in rare company and links it directly to the most glorious attacking chapters in the club’s history.

As such, only four Barcelona sides have ever surpassed that total in a calendar year, and all of them belong to the golden peak of the Lionel Messi era.

Those teams reached 180 goals in 2015, 175 in 2012, 174 in 2016, and 170 in 2011.

It’s Flick’s Barcelona

This version of Barcelona has made their attack the heart of its competitive identity.

Yet there is one key difference compared to those Messi-led sides – the goals are no longer concentrated in one unstoppable figure. This Barça scores as a collective.

Every first-team player has found the net in 2025, with the sole exception of Marc Bernal, who spent much of the year sidelined with a serious knee injury.

At the top of the scoring charts, Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski share the lead with 27 goals each. Close behind, Raphinha has contributed 24 goals.

Then comes the most exciting confirmation of all. Lamine Yamal, with 21 goals, has completed his transition from prodigious talent to decisive reality.

Add to that the 14 goals from Fermin Lopez, 11 from Dani Olmo, and the picture becomes clear.

This spread of goals explains why Barcelona are so difficult to stop. They can hurt teams through long spells of possession or in rapid transitions.

They score through high pressing, patient build-up, adventurous fullbacks, and midfielders who naturally attack the box.

The win at Villarreal summed it all up. Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona have rediscovered their hunger.
