Barcelona sporting director Deco on Monday held a meeting with the representative of one of the club’s current stars, as well as one to have spent last season on loan in Catalunya’s capital.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Jijantes, who point towards Oriol Romeu and Pau Víctor as the players in question.

It is of course common knowledge that Barcelona are actively working towards moving midfielder Romeu on, following an underwhelming first season back with the club.

Frontman Víctor, on the other hand, remains a target on the part of the Blaugrana brass, owing to his excellence with Barca Atlètic whilst on loan from Girona this past season.

The aforementioned Deco, in turn, is keen to make use of the opportunity to strike up an agreement over a swap deal of sorts.

As per Sport, the Portuguese on Monday sat down for a meeting with Mágico Díaz, who represents both Romeu, and Víctor.

And, during as much, the possibility of the two players heading in opposite directions over the weeks ahead is understood to have been discussed.

‘Barça would like to try to keep Pau Víctor, hence they will try to carry out a joint negotiation,’ it is concluded.

Girona are known to be open to the return of the experienced Romeu ahead of the club’s first-ever season in the Champions League next time out, meaning an exchange deal could prove the best option for all parties involved.
