FC Barcelona are reportedly preparing one of the most ambitious transfer moves of recent years, with Deco putting together a sensational two-for-one proposal for Harry Kane and Dayot Upamecano. According to El Nacional, the deal could reshape Barcelona’s squad next summer, addressing two key areas of concern in attack and defence.
Harry Kane remains a major name in European football. At 32, the England captain continues to deliver consistently for Bayern Munich, with goals flowing both in the Bundesliga and Champions League. “At Barça, Kane is estimated to be the immediate replacement for Robert Lewandowski, bringing experience, goalscoring ability, and leadership at a key moment in the project.”
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is reportedly a strong admirer of Kane. “Kane is also liked by Hansi Flick, who knows him well from his time in Germany and believes he would fit perfectly into a system with vertical wingers and a reference number 9.” Such a move would be a statement signing, signalling that Barcelona still have the pulling power to attract elite talent.

Equally important is strengthening the defence, an area where Dayot Upamecano fits the bill. “Dayot Upamecano’s name is generating even more interest due to his contract status. The French centre-back’s contract with Bayern expires in 2026.” His potential availability at a reduced price or even as a free agent makes him an appealing strategic option. Flick is said to be pushing for defensive reinforcements, with Upamecano’s pace and physical strength ticking every box.
Bringing both Kane and Upamecano in one deal would address Barcelona’s short-term need for a world-class striker and their long-term requirement for a commanding centre-back. “The plan is on the table: Harry Kane as the immediate number 9 and Upamecano as the defensive centrepiece of the future.”
Deco and Laporta are aware that Bayern Munich rarely allow key players to leave easily, yet the possibility of uniting these two stars is too enticing to ignore. If successful, this double deal could represent one of the defining moments of Barcelona’s post-Messi rebuild.
Barcelona supporters will be buzzing with this report. The idea of signing Harry Kane feels like a dream move, a proper number 9 who can take over from Robert Lewandowski and instantly become a leader on and off the pitch. Fans will point to Kane’s professionalism and experience as the perfect fit for a club looking to reassert itself among Europe’s elite.
Upamecano’s inclusion adds even more excitement. Blaugrana followers have been crying out for a dominant, athletic centre-back who can anchor the defence for years. His ability to play out from the back makes him a natural fit for Barcelona’s style.
Of course, there will be scepticism. Bayern are notoriously difficult to negotiate with, and combining two deals of this magnitude would require financial gymnastics, especially with Barcelona’s well-documented economic struggles. Some supporters might fear that chasing Kane at 32 could be a short-term gamble when the club also needs to plan for the future.
Overall, there is a mix of excitement and cautious optimism. If Deco and Laporta can pull this off, it would send shockwaves through European football and announce that Barcelona are truly back at the top table.
