FC Barcelona are hopeful of completing several exit operations before 30th June, when the current financial year ends, to ensure they can show the income from these operations in the statements for the 2025-26 financial year. In this regard, they are looking forward to the permanent purchase of Ansu Fati by AS Monaco, and the sale of Marc Casado.
Meanwhile, they are also looking to definitely part ways with the goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but this is a case that worries them the most, as it would be very difficult to find a suitor for the German goalie.
The goalkeeper, who has already recovered from his injury and is now looking for a new club, has a letter of freedom in his hands. However, he has a contract with the Catalan club till 2028, and with no other clubs willing to take on his high wages, Barcelona can also opt for another loan in which they continue paying a part of his wages, as was the case with Girona.
Recently, ter Stegen was closely linked with a move to the Dutch side Ajax, particularly as Michel is their new head-coach. However, according to SPORT, the goalie’s wages make this operation very difficult for them as well, and as a result, they are in advanced negotiations with Yann Sommer as well, whose contract with Inter Milan is expiring this summer.
If an agreement is reached, this would close the door to Ter Stegen’s move to Ajax, and Barcelona would have the difficult task of finding another club for the German goalie once again this summer. Meanwhile, the player himself is not looking to join any non-European side for family reasons, and is looking to start the preseason under Hansi Flick, especially as Joan Garcia would not be available because of the World Cup.
