Hansi Flick has expressed his openness to extending his contract with FC Barcelona, but only if Joan Laporta continues as club president.

Since his arrival in 2024, the German tactician has made an immediate impact. He clinched La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España all in his debut season. This year, Barcelona remain atop the league and are still in contention in the Champions League.

The club is eager to extend his contract, which currently runs through 2027. However, according to multiple sources, Flick is waiting for the outcome of the presidential elections scheduled for March 15. If Laporta is re-elected, a contract extension appears likely. Otherwise, the coach may consider leaving.
