Barcelona’s summer transfer business may be far from finished, but every new arrival appears to bring fresh questions about who could be heading in the opposite direction.

The signing of Anthony Gordon has already strengthened Hansi Flick’s attacking options, yet the club continues to explore additional opportunities in the market.

Barcelona remain interested in completing a move for Julian Alvarez, while Bernardo Silva has also emerged as a potential option after being offered to the club.

Should Barcelona manage to complete further attacking additions, difficult decisions will inevitably need to be made regarding the current squad.

At the moment, according to SPORT, two names appear to be moving closer to the exit than the starting lineup – Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji.

Rashford facing growing uncertainty

Barcelona’s attack is becoming increasingly crowded, particularly with several academy talents also pushing for opportunities in the first team.

In that context, Rashford and Bardghji find themselves in a complicated position heading into the new season.

Rashford’s case is perhaps the more surprising one. The England international enjoyed a productive campaign and made a strong contribution, registering 14 goals and 14 assists.

Those numbers would normally strengthen a player’s case for continuity. However, the financial side of the operation remains a significant obstacle.

Barcelona view the €30 million purchase option as difficult to execute under the club’s current financial circumstances.

Unless Manchester United show greater flexibility and become open to negotiating another loan arrangement, Rashford’s chances of remaining at Barcelona could become increasingly limited.

What about Bardghji?

The situation is different for Bardghji, but the conclusion may ultimately be the same.

The Swedish talent remains highly regarded within the club, yet there is growing belief that his development would benefit more from regular football elsewhere than sporadic appearances in Barcelona’s first team.

Barcelona’s sporting project is entering a new phase under Flick, and squad planning is becoming just as important as recruitment.

For Rashford, the issue is not necessarily sporting performance but squad construction and financial reality.

On the other hand, Bardghji’s situation is complicated by the fact that his direct competitor for the starting XI role is Lamine Yamal.
