Barcelona forward Ferran Torres was far from satisfied with the final result of the 2025 Ballon d’Or gala on Monday night.
While most of the debate centred on whether Ousmane Dembele’s victory over Lamine Yamal was deserved, Ferran showed his anger and indignation at the position occupied by Pedri in the final ranking.
In what came as a shock, Pedri finished in 11th place in the Ballon d’Or ranking, something Ferran could not understand.
He made his feelings clear on social media, reposting on his Instagram stories the post by Ballon d’Or that announced Pedri’s rank, adding two emojis: one with an exploding head and another of a hand covering a face, signalling both disappointment and incomprehension.

It was indeed shocking and almost farcical that the best midfielder in the world finished outside the top ten after the season that he had, when he was one of the architects behind Barcelona’s domestic treble triumph.
Pedri and Ferran have started the new season on a brilliant note for Barcelona. Both players are performing at a high level.
Pedri has been dictating the game from midfield with his impeccable quality and exhibiting leadership. As for Ferran, with four goals and one assist in five league matches, he is enjoying one of the best starts to a season in his career.
