FC Barcelona are looking to make multiple signings in the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad before the next season.
A new centre-forward is at the top of the priority list for the Catalans, but they are also looking at the prospect of bringing in a new centre-back.
Alessandro Bastoni of Inter Milan was seen as the main target, but concerns about his profile for Hansi Flick and potential transfer fees have made the club reconsider.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have also been keeping a close eye on AFC Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, who will be a free agent this summer with his contract expiring on June 30.
However, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, Tottenham Hotspur have already secured a verbal agreement to sign Senesi as a free agent next season.

The north London club, who managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth, intend to make the Argentine their first new signing for the summer.
As such, they are already working on a four-year contract for Senesi, with a final agreement seemingly on the horizon.
The report states that Spurs have managed to stave off competition from several European heavyweights, including Liverpool, to secure the services of the left-footed defender.

As mentioned earlier, even though Barcelona want a new defender, but it has since moved down to a lower priority, with all focus on signing a new striker for now.
The emergence of Gerard Martin as an option in the position and his performances over the course of the season, have seemingly reduced the club’s urgency for a new central defender.
So, while they might pass up on Bastoni and miss out on Senesi, Barça will take their time and assess other options before making a decision on who to sign.
