As the winter window approaches, PSG have the flexibility to make targeted adjustments for the final phase of the 2025–26 season while also thinking ahead to a larger objective.

That measured strategy was evident with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. PSG monitored the winger closely throughout the summer of 2024, then chose to act in early 2025, moving forward only when the timing aligned with the club’s broader plans.

Recently, Football Insider reports that PSG are keeping a close eye on Marcus Rashford’s situation at Barcelona. The French club is considering a move for the 28-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester United in Spain.

Barcelona still look set to make his stay permanent, with a €35 million release clause and Rashford contributing six goals and seven assists in 18 appearances at Camp Nou. However, if the Spanish side hesitates, PSG are prepared to step in.

However, transfer reporter Ben Jacobs revealed recently that PSG are targeting a versatile forward in 2026. Nonetheless, his reporting also makes clear that a move for Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United at Barcelona this season, is not being pursued at this stage.

Barcelona hold a clause that allows the club to turn Marcus Rashford’s loan into a permanent move next summer for €30 million. No final decision has been made by Barcelona, but Rashford has made his stance clear.

The forward has said he wants to remain with the Catalan side and does not intend to head back to Man Utd.

“Of course, what I want is to stay at Barca,” Rashford told Sport. “It’s the ultimate goal, but it’s not the reason I’m training hard and giving my all. The purpose is to win. Barca is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles. There is pressure here, but it’s not negative pressure; it’s the kind you crave as a player, the kind I want and have always wanted as a footballer.

“I can’t be in a place where there aren’t high expectations; for me, it’s harder to stay motivated and give my best at a club where the demands aren’t at their peak. I’m in the perfect place and environment to continue my journey as a footballer, so I’m just trying to give my best every day and help the team win. We’ll see what happens next summer.”
