While it is the potential new signings that are, understandably, exciting the FC Barcelona fans more, the Catalan club would also have to address the futures of several players currently on their payroll. In this regard, they are currently looking to complete some sales as soon as possible, to ensure they can get earnings from them before the end of the current financial year on 30th June.
The Blaugranes are already quite close to finalizing the permanent sale of Ansu Fati, but might need some more time to address other desired sales. Among the players they want to sell include several goalkeepers. They have already sold Diego Kochen, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen is once again proving to be a difficult player to part ways with.
Meanwhile, Inaki Pena is another goalkeeper whose future Barcelona would have to address, as he would rejoin their team on 13th July, after spending the last season on loan with Elche.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the goalie understands that he is not a part of Hansi Flick’s plans, and wants to resolve his future as soon as possible. He also believes that the Catalan club would allow him to leave without any problems, and might also agree on a free transfer, particularly if they can keep some future rights on him.
Pena has some offers to stay in La Liga, but wants to leave for another country, with Turkey one of his preferred destinations. He already has experience of playing there, as he played for Galatasaray on loan in 2022. Greece could be another attractive destination for him.
Inaki Pena is looking to resolve his future either this week or in the next week at the latest. He is certain not to start the preseason with Barcelona, but it remains to be seen where he would be playing for the next season.
