Barcelona’s plans begin every summer with the best available options in every position across the park. After all, there is always optimism before the reality of the financial situation knocks the administration back to the ground.
At this point, early rumours thus place Barcelona as candidates to make several big-name signings in the summer. One of the players linked with the club in that sense is Julian Alvarez.
With Robert Lewandowski’s future looking uncertain, the Catalans see the need for a young and long-term striker option, and the Atletico Madrid star is viewed as the top option.
Several other European clubs, including PSG, however, are also said to be in the race.
However, as reported by SPORT, PSG are not planning a move for Julian Alvarez this summer and do not have him in their plans.
It is true that Luis Enrique admired the Argentine international and that PSG tried to sign him last summer. For now, however, he does not find himself in their plans.

The development, needless to say, is massive from Barcelona’s perspective as it removes one major competitor from their sight.
In fact, the outlet adds that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, is pleased with PSG backing out, as it means less competition for the Catalans.
Deco and Co. are currently waiting for the current season to end before they make contact and begin negotiations with Atletico Madrid.
They are hoping to find intermediaries who can get Atletico Madrid director Mateu Alemany to sit down and negotiate on Alvarez’s departure in the meantime.
So far this season, Alvarez has made 29 La Liga appearances for his club and has eight goals and four assists to his name. Further, he averages 1.9 shots and 1.6 key passes per ninety minutes.
