FC Barcelona players were back on the training ground after two days off following recent setbacks, including a heavy 4–0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final and a controversial La Liga loss to Girona that cost the Catalans top spot in the table.
Today’s session, however, brought welcome news for the Catalan side. According to Mundo Deportivo, Pedri and Marcus Rashford both trained with the group, handing Barcelona a timely double boost ahead of their next La Liga fixture.
Barcelona are preparing for Sunday’s home clash against Levante at the Spotify Camp Nou. The match comes with added context as Real Madrid, now leading the table by two points, travel to face Osasuna a day earlier.
Hansi Flick is determined to see a reaction from his players. Pedri has missed the last six matches due to a muscle injury, while Rashford was unavailable for the two most recent defeats. Both are expected to be included in the squad to face Levante if no late issues arise.
Before taking to the pitch, Flick held a one-hour meeting with the squad to review the mistakes made in the last two games. The German coach is keen to restore focus and intensity after Barcelona surrendered top spot following the defeat at Montilivi and Madrid’s victory over Real Sociedad.
In terms of absentees, only Gavi and Andreas Christensen now remain sidelined. Gavi is expected to return to group training in March, while there is still no confirmed timeline for Christensen’s comeback.
For now, Barcelona’s attention is fully on Levante, with the return of Pedri and Rashford offering fresh optimism at a pivotal moment in the season.
