The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona, as things stand, do not plan on offering a contract renewal to a member of the club’s defensive ranks.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.

Stopper Christensen for his part recently made clear once more his intention to stay put and fight for his place in Hansi Flick’s squad.

This came following another summer packed with speculation surrounding the future of the former Chelsea man.

Christensen has since gone on to play his part in six of Barca’s eight fixtures over the early weeks of the new season, encouraging signs for a player who spent the bulk of the 2024/25 campaign sidelined through injury.

As alluded to above, however, as of this moment, as much has not proven enough to convince those in the boardroom at the Camp Nou.

As per a report from Marca, ahead of the expiration of his current contract terms in the summer of 2026:

‘At this time, the Sporting Directorate has no intention of offering him a renewal.’
