Barcelona ‘having a laugh’ at Real Madrid after strong start as players look forward to El Clasico – report | OneFootball

Barcelona are already looking ahead to El Clasico with confidence after their perfect start to the La Liga season has put them six points clear of Real Madrid.

According to El Chiringuito TV, there is growing amusement within Barcelona over the contrasting fortunes of the two clubs, with Hansi Flick’s side having won all seven of their league matches while Madrid have already suffered two defeats.

The difference in form has added an extra edge to the meeting, with Barcelona seemingly eager to discover whether their early dominance can be carried into the biggest fixture of the Spanish season.

Speaking about the mood within the Barcelona dressing room, Jose Alvarez Haya says, “At Barça, they’re having a laugh at Madrid’s expense.

“They’re really looking forward to El Clasico,” he added.

Barcelona have given Real Madrid plenty to worry about

Barcelona have collected all 21 available points and have scored 31 goals in their opening seven matches, an average of more than four per game.

Real Madrid, by comparison, have taken 15 points from their seven fixtures after five wins and two defeats. They have scored 18 goals and conceded eight, leaving them with a +10 goal difference.

Barcelona have conceded only seven times while producing an attacking return that is already 13 goals better than Madrid’s.

Raphinha has been central to that start, with the captain already on around 12 league goals, including his hat-trick against Sevilla and Racing. 

Lamine Yamal, on his part, has also played a major role as well, while Fermin Lopez, Karim Adeyemi, Pedri, Joao Cancelo and Gabriel Jesus have all contributed.

El Clasico becoming an early test of Barcelona’s momentum

The timing of the fixture makes the contrast particularly interesting, as Barcelona have been able to build momentum without dropping a point, while Real Madrid have already had to recover from two setbacks.

Sure, that does not decide the title race, but it has changed the atmosphere surrounding the first Clásico of the campaign.

Barcelona’s next league fixtures include a home meeting with Getafe before the much-anticipated clash with Real Madrid on October 25. 

By then, Flick’s side will have the opportunity to strengthen their position further before facing their biggest domestic rival.

For now, the mood around Barcelona is one of confidence. The team is scoring heavily, conceding relatively few goals and finding contributions throughout the squad.

The excitement over facing Real Madrid is therefore understandable in the context of their respective starts. 

El Clasico will offer a very different test from the matches that have produced Barcelona’s perfect record so far, but Flick’s team will enter the contest with the advantage of having built substantial momentum.
