According to a recent update from journalist Rik Elfrink, it has been learned that Veteran Croatian winger Ivan Perisic is eyeing a move to FC Barcelona.

The 36-year-old, now a free agent after finishing his contract with PSV Eindhoven, is reportedly keen on ending his top-level career in La Liga, and Barcelona is his preferred destination.

The reporter mentions that there has been some contact between Perisic’s camp and Barça, but at this stage, no official movement has been made by the club.

While interest from Barcelona has not yet materialised into a formal offer, the idea is reportedly attractive to manager Hansi Flick, who shares both a professional past and personal friendship with the Croatian international.

Flick’s approval keeps door open

Perisic recently ended his time at PSV after an impressive season, registering 16 goals and 11 assists in 39 appearances and despite being 36, he remains a regular in the Croatian national team setup.

Interestingly, the player has also ruled out any potential move to Marseille in recent weeks, making it clear he’s only interested in a top Spanish club and Barça top that list.

What makes this case particularly interesting is the relationship between Flick and Perisic. The duo previously worked together at Bayern Munich during the 2019–2020 season, where Perisic scored six goals and assisted eight.

It was a campaign that ended with Bayern lifting the Champions League trophy, and Flick is said to have great respect for the Croatian’s work ethic and versatility.

Perisic, known for his spells at Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern, and Tottenham, sees Barcelona as the perfect place to close out his career.

With Flick now in charge at Camp Nou, the dream of a final reunion could still come true if the club decides to act on the player’s interest. For now, all eyes are on whether Barcelona will take the next step.
