FC Barcelona have their sights on a new centre-forward for the summer of 2026, but there will likely be a few more additions, mostly in the defensive department.

A new centre-back is very much on the agenda, especially given that Inigo Martinez was let go without signing a replacement.

Meanwhile, a new right-back could also be on the wishlist for Hansi Flick, considering there is a lack of depth in the position, with the manager having to rely on Eric Garcia as cover for Jules Kounde.

Daniel Munoz on Barcelona’s radar?

Amidst this, journalist Julian Capera of ESPN Colombia reports that there have been informal talks held between Barcelona and the agents of Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz.

Munoz has been with Palace since January 2024 and has become a permanent fixture in Oliver Glasner’s team, in the process establishing himself as one of the best in his role in the Premier League.

Munoz signed a new contract with the Eagles earlier this year, committing to the club until 2028, with the Premier League team retaining an option to extend it by twelve more months.

Barcelona have taken an interest in the Colombian international, and it appears that there have been informal talks held between the club and the player’s representatives.

Last year, Munoz went on record to say that he dreams of playing for the Blaugrana.

“To be able to play for Barcelona,” said Munoz when asked to name his lifelong dream.

So, should there be a concrete approach from the La Liga champions, Munoz would likely jump at the chance to secure a transfer. However, convincing Crystal Palace to part ways with the Colombian will not be an easy task.
