FC Barcelona continue their intense work in preparing transfers and departures for the upcoming season.
With the agreement to sign Joan Garcia secured, Deco and his team are moving ahead with their plans to further strengthen the first-team squad while also keeping an eye out for exciting youth talent to reinforce La Masia.
To that end, Mundo Deportivo reports that agent Andy Bara – representative of Dani Olmo and a member of Niagara Sports, the agency handling the affairs of Joan Garcia – was present at Barcelona’s training facilities today.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the potential signing of Cardoso Varela, a 16-year-old Portuguese winger from Dinamo Zagreb who has been regularly linked with Barcelona.

The initial plan was to incorporate the player into the club’s reserve team, but their relegation to the Segunda RFEF could lead to the young winger remaining on loan at Dinamo Zagreb for another season to continue his development.
The deal under consideration is reportedly structured at around €5 million fixed, plus an additional €20 million in performance-based variables depending on Varela’s progression and involvement with the first team.
Bara’s visit to Ciutat Esportiva had also sparked speculation that Joan Garcia’s move to Barcelona might be finalised on the same day.
However, the Croatian agent did not discuss the goalkeeper during the meeting with the club’s sporting management.
