In a recent report, ESPN revealed that Barcelona have identified Monaco right-back Vanderson as a target for this transfer window. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Brazilian defender this summer.
Vanderson enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign when he produced a run of impressive displays on the right side of their backline. The 24-year-old found the back of the net twice and earned five assists in 41 matches for Monaco last season across multiple competitions.
The Brazilian talent deserves a ton of credit for averaging 76 tackles, 43 blocks and 39 interceptions in Ligue 1. He even distributed possession relatively well from the back, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 77.7% in the French top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Monaco will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Barcelona to sign him on the cheap in this transfer period.

Vanderson is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and can even create the odd chance for others around him in the final third.
The Brazilian talent is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a right-winger if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga if Barcelona manage to bring him on board this summer.
Vanderson would add more quality and depth to Barca boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp this season.
At 24, Vanderson has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Barcelona to consider in this summer transfer window. He might even help the Catalan giants compete for some major silverware over the next few years. Thus, Flick should think about going all out to sign him soon.
