In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona have identified Manchester City winger Savinho as a target. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are eyeing the Brazilian wide player as a long-term successor to Raphinha.
Savinho has struggled to earn regular first-team starts at the Mancunian club this season, but has managed to catch the eye for them in the final third. The Brazilian talent has registered one goal and grabbed two assists in 15 appearances for Man City this season across all competitions.
The 21-year-old has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 1.55 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 42.9% of his attempts on target. Savinho has even distributed possession relatively well after completing 79.5% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will run out in the summer of 2031. Hence, it won’t be easy for Barcelona to snap him up on the cheap next year.

Savinho is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The Brazilian talent can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the field. He is already quite familiar with La Liga and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Barcelona.
We can expect Savinho to bring more quality and depth to Barca boss Hansi Flick’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Catalan club and could serve as a good successor to Raphinha in the coming years.
At 21, Savinho has got the potential to be a future star in European football. He could even help the Catalan giants compete for some major honours over the next decade. Thus, Flick would be wise to go all out to get a deal over the line for him this January or at the end of this campaign.
