Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro has caught the eye of Barcelona at the World Cup, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club handed the defender a new deal before the World Cup and are not looking to lose him anytime soon.
Porro has made five appearances at the tournament, scoring twice, and Barca president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco have been impressed with the Spurs’ star performances.
The 26-year-old only played once during the group stage but has featured since the round of 32, and the La Liga champions have been watching.
However, they have no concrete plans to make any move for the Tottenham defender right now.
Porro has established a great understanding with Lamine Yamal on the right side of Spain’s attack, and it is clear to see why Barca are excited and would love him at Camp Nou.
They currently have Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Xavi Espart and Hector Fort as options at right-back and are looking to strengthen in other positions.
Spurs will hope the bigwigs do not come for Porro this summer as he is a big part of manager Roberto De Zerbi’s plans next term.
His former deal was expected to expire in 2028 but he has now signed a new deal until 2031, with an option for another year.
The right-back has made 152 appearances since joining the Lilywhites in January 2023 from Sporting CP, weighing in with 13 goals and 26 assists.
Porro has committed his future to Tottenham and they will hope to hold on to him as long as possible as winning the World Cup on Sunday could see suitors come knocking.
