The brass at Barcelona have been made aware of the kind of fee which would be required to prise Javi Guerra away from La Liga rivals Valencia.
This comes owing to a meeting held in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week.
Barcelona sporting director Deco, it is understood, sat down for a round of discussions with player agent Javi Garrido this past Wednesday.
During the talks, the name of one of the representative’s leading clients, namely the aforementioned Javi Guerra was brought to the fore.
Midfielder Guerra is fresh off another stellar individual season on the books of Valencia, culminating in 10 direct goal contributions from his berth in the middle of the park.
Such exploits did not go unnoticed amongst those in the boardroom at Barcelona, with Deco having therefore made use of talks with the Spaniard’s agent to discuss Guerra’s future.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana chief was informed of the following:
‘His release clause is €40 million, but it will increase to €60 million on August 1st. It was originally €100 million, but was reduced when he renewed his contract.’
It is also noted that the 23-year-old is not part of Barca’s immediate transfer plans, but his situation is being closely monitored.
