The transfer team at Barcelona have identified a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Sevilla as a potential target with a view to next season.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing La Gazzetta dello Sport, who point towards Lucien Agoumé as the player in question.
Agoumé, for his part, has played a prominent role in the setup of new Sevilla boss García Pimienta across the season to date.
Since seeing his loan move to Andalusia from Inter Milan made permanent over the summer, the 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength, shining at the base of Sevilla’s engine room en route to 15 La Liga appearances.
And such endeavours, it would appear, have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of some of the continent’s leading clubs.
As per the aforementioned MD, Premier League heavyweights Arsenal have earmarked Agoumé as their first-choice target to replace Thomas Partey.
The Gunners, though, will not have it all their own way in efforts to land the France youth international, with Barcelona, it is claimed, also on Agoumé’s trail.
