Although FC Barcelona has not displayed significant weaknesses so far this season, there are still areas within the squad that require reinforcement.
The Catalans have already identified some of these areas, with the left wing being a priority for improvement. To address this, they have been linked with players such as Nico Williams, Rafael Leão, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Additionally, the Blaugrana are keen to strengthen their full-back positions. On the right flank, SPORT reports that one of the players of particular interest to Barcelona is Oscar Mingueza, who departed the club in the summer of 2022 to join Celta Vigo.
Although the €12m-rated La Masia graduate did not have the best performance against the Blaugranes on Saturday, Barcelona still view him as a strong candidate to bolster their squad and provide additional cover for Jules Koundé.

Oscar Mingueza has been one of La Liga’s surprise performers this season, registering 2 goals and 5 assists so far.
Moreover, Barcelona hold a right of first refusal and 50% ownership of the player’s economic rights. With his release clause set at €20 million, the Catalans would only need to pay €10 million to bring him back—an attractive proposition given the current market conditions.
This presents Barcelona with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their right flank without overspending.
For the time being, Héctor Fort has been filling in for Jules Koundé as needed. After failing to leave a strong impression on coach Hansi Flick during pre-season, the youngster has since gained more prominence in the squad and is now regarded as a reliable option for both the left and right flanks.
However, for now, Barcelona are not expected to make any move for him in the January transfer window, and a potential move for the fullback will come only next summer.
