Red Star general director Zvezdan Terzic revealed that the club have rejected offers of around €6 million for Mitrovic.

The youngster’s father has taken to Twitter to confirm that Barca have been in touch with him.

Mitrovic joined Red Star last summer from Radnicki Nis. Having already played for both clubs this term, the Serbian would not have been allowed to join another club last month.

Barca and his suitors will continue to keep tabs on Mitrovic ahead of the summer transfer window.

His performances for Belgrade in the Europa League this term have attracted scouts.

Mitrovic has bagged five goals this season and more is expected from him.

Barca are already well-stocked in attack, and the youngster will be signed as one for the future.

Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele are manager Xavi’s first-choice attackers.

Linked-away Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres are options off the bench, and midfield sensations Gavi and Pedri are also occasionally deployed as forwards.

Mitrovic ended last season with ten goals in 35 league games and has already earned his senior international debut.

A move to the Camp Nou club could appeal to the youngster, but he could struggle for playing time.

Barca would likely look to loan him out if they win the race for his signature.

They will continue to run the rule over him ahead of the summer transfer window.
