Following the 1-0 win over UE Olot in a friendly encounter on Thursday, Barcelona players were given two days off from training by manager Hansi Flick before they fly off to the US on Sunday.

Indeed, the German tactician decided to grant the players a small break today and tomorrow before they make the transatlantic flight to the USA to play three pre-season friendlies.

Lewandowski, Christensen show up to train

Now, SPORT reports that despite having the day off, Barcelona duo Andreas Christensen and Robert Lewandowski showed up to training at the club’s Ciutat Esportiva facilities.

Both Christensen and Lewandowski did not start the pre-season from the outset on July 10 due to their involvement in the UEFA Euro 2024.

Lewandowski’s Poland crashed out at the group stage itself while Christensen’s Denmark outfit were eliminated at the Round of 16 stage.

Following that, both players went on a brief holiday before returning to training earlier this week.

Having done so, they are behind some of their teammates as far as preparations are concerned and as such they chose to attend training on the day off to get ready for the challenges ahead.

Few more players show up

Apart from Christensen and Lewandowski, a few more Barcelona players also trained on their day off today.

Clement Lenglet, who has no future at the club, was spotted at the training facilities, as was Mika Faye, who is recovering from an ankle discomfort that led to him not playing against Olot. Frenkie de Jong, also recovering from an injury, was also present.

Meanwhile new signing Pau Victor, who joined the club earlier this week, also opted to train on the day off.
