While looking to make some high-profile additions to their first team, FC Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on some of the most promising youth talents emerging around the world, and have also signed several such promising young players in the last few years.

Their most recent acquisitions include Joni Hernandez and Juan Ybarra, both from Tenerife, Josue Caicedo, Ignasi Quer, and Javi Castro. Before that, during the winter, they had also signed players like Hamza Abdelkarim, Patricio Pacifico, Ajay Tavares, and Juwensley Onstein.

During this time, the Catalans have also been keeping an eye on another highly promising forward, the 18-year-old Club Brugge winger Jesse Bisiwu. The Catalans have been pursuing him for several months, and according to Mundo Deportivo, have now initiated another offensive for his signing.

Barcelona have already seen one of their offers for the young Belgian being rejected by Brugge, but they are now once again in contact with the Belgian club for his signing. Both Deco and Joao Amaral, the head of scouting for the Blaugrana club, are directly involved in this operation and have already travelled to Belgium.

Club Brugge knows the potential that Bisiwu has, and is thus not willing to let him leave at this stage of his career. This was one of the reasons they did not allow him to leave, despite his desire being to don the Barcelona shirt and his contract running out in 2027. In fact, they also penalized the player by not playing him in the semifinal of the UEFA Youth League against Real Madrid, despite him being their best player, which the Belgian side lost on penalties.

As far as the Catalans are concerned, they are very impressed with the player, and want to repeat an operation like Roony Bardghji’s. However, unlike the Dane, Jesse Bisiwu has not played regular top level football yet, and thus, if he is signed, he would alternate between the reserve and the first teams.
