Barcelona LCPD back to normal as Real Madrid set record high | OneFootball

LaLiga confirmed the latest Límite de Coste de Plantilla Deportiva figures, setting Barcelona’s at 582 million euros and Real Madrid’s at a record 832 million. After five years of strain, Barcelona’s financial fair play position has finally returned to something like normal.

It is Barça’s highest mark since 2022/23, when Joan Laporta’s palancas pushed the tally past 600 million. The previous cap in February 2026 was 433 million, so the club has added 150 million in months. Atlético stand at 361 million.

Madrid’s limit has been lifted through the option to draw on accumulated savings, allowed by the regulations. Their ordinary spending capacity is therefore not as elevated.

In February 2022 their cap was a negative 144 million, before financial levers restored some 800 million of room within months. Across the last three seasons, once those temporary boosts faded, the cap swung between 204 and 437 million, often below the squad’s real cost.

The return to Camp Nou has increased revenues, while around 90 million in sales generated 38.4 million of extra margin and allowed roughly 180 million of spending without registration fears. This has been the first summer since the pandemic with no penalties.

Even so, LaLiga’s update is only a snapshot. A fresh return to Montjuïc to finish Camp Nou works is expected to hit ordinary income and, in turn, the cap.
