Barcelona icon Lionel Messi on Friday took another step towards a historic goalscoring milestone.
This came courtesy of his exploits in Argentina’s friendly meeting with Angola.
The reigning world champions marked their return to action a short time ago, locking horns with African outfit Angola amid ongoing preparations for next summer’s World Cup.
When all was said and done, Argentina emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result.
And Messi, predictably, proved himself the star of the show.
After first laying on Lautaro Martínez’s opener with his latest assist during the first-half, the 38-year-old went on to round out the scoring courtesy of a goal of his own late on.
And in the process, Messi inched ever closer to the 900-goal mark for his career.
Over the course of his playing days, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has now found the net on a frankly remarkable 895 occasions.
