Brazil and Barcelona icon Neymar Jr. has this week been dealt a fresh setback on the fitness front.
This comes amid confirmation that the attacker is facing up to an incoming spell on the treatment table over the weeks ahead.
Neymar of course took his place centre stage in the football headlines across world football last week, after being named in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 34-year-old spent recent months working tirelessly on his fitness with Santos, beating out the likes of João Pedro to a spot in his country’s setup for international football’s grandest tournament.
As alluded to above, though, just weeks out from the World Cup getting underway, Neymar has suffered a blow.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, the legendary winger has picked up a muscular injury:
‘Neymar Jr suffers a new injury and will be out for 2/3 weeks, tests have confirmed. Ney will miss the friendly games before the World Cup and could miss opening game against Morocco.’
