A recent report from MARCA has revealed that Real Madrid are closely monitoring Antonio Cordero, an 18-year-old rising star from Malaga.

The young forward, who gained attention after scoring the decisive goal that secured Malaga’s promotion, is reportedly interested in the idea of joining the European champions.

Real Madrid have been quietly observing Cordero’s development for some time now. Although they have not been directly involved in shaping his career so far, their presence has always loomed in the background.

It must be noted that last summer when Barcelona showed interest, Real Madrid made inquiries of their own. However, Malaga firmly refused to entertain any offers for their budding star at the time.

Situation has changed

The situation now appears to have shifted. Real Madrid seem to be taking a more active approach, exploring the possibility of bringing Cordero to the Spanish capital.

For his part, the player is reportedly drawn to the prestige of wearing the famous white jersey, though he remains professional and committed to his career decisions.

Cordero’s current contract with Malaga runs until 2025, but the club is making efforts to extend his deal. Reports suggest that Malaga have tabled an improved offer in a bid to retain their young star.

This new proposal is said to place Cordero among the highest earners in the squad. At the very least, Malaga hope to secure a deal that would guarantee a significant transfer fee if the player moves in the future.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also looking to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window. This move is not intended for their first team but rather to address injury issues that have affected both Castilla and Real Madrid C.

The battle for Antonio Cordero’s signature is far from over, and it remains to be seen whether he will stay loyal to Malaga or take a leap towards Real Madrid.
