FC Barcelona are in a sensation run of form despite the loss to AS Monaco in the Champions League. In the league, they look unstoppable with seven wins from seven games and Hansi Flick’s team looks to be undisturbed by all the off-field injury issues.

One player who has really turned his career around at Barcelona is Raphinha. This is the Brazilian winger’s third season at the club but it’s safe to say that he looks like a new signing for the club. He has had his moments in previous seasons but something has changed now.

Named one of the captains at the beginning of the campaign, leadership looks to have brought the best out of the 27-year-old. Hansi Flick admitted that the Brazilian star is now playing a key role in every match and even labeled him ‘brilliant’.

Now, as per SPORT, Barcelona are looking to reward their captain with a new contract which will see him extend the deal that currently runs until 2027 at the club. It has to be said that such a move will be well deserved for the Brazilian.

Come next summer, Raphinha will be entering the final two years of his deal and Barcelona want to renew his contract as they expect offers to fly in for him. Should they not reach an agreement with the player, however, they would consider selling him next summer.

The club is very clear that they must tie down one of their biggest assets to a long-term deal. Raphinha, considering his passion for the club and the way he bleeds Blaugrana on the field should agree to an extension without much hassle.

Raphinha is now one of the club captains and his future at the club has never looked more sorted than it does at the minute. It will be a huge surprise if the club entertains any offers for him going forward and a new contract could be a matter of time.

It has taken a couple of seasons but the 27-year-old is finally coming into his own at Barcelona. One can only hope this continues for a long time and that Raphinha can continue to lead from the front until some of the other captains return.
