According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona midfield maestro Pedri has approached his recent injury setback in a noticeably different way compared to previous spells on the sidelines.
As per the outlet, those around the player believe this change is a growing sense of maturity, both mentally and emotionally, as he continues to establish himself as one of the club’s key figures.
Pedri picked up the injury on January 21 during Barcelona’s match in Prague against Slavia Prague.
Shortly after, the club confirmed that the midfielder would be out for around a month, putting his expected return towards the end of February.
While the injury itself was a concern, the timing could have made the situation far more complicated under different circumstances.
This is why Barcelona’s direct qualification for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 turned out to be a major boost for the player.
Had the team been forced into a play-off, Pedri would have been a serious doubt.
Hence, finishing fifth in the league phase removed that uncertainty entirely, easing pressure on the club and especially on the player himself.

This scenario has allowed Pedri to focus fully on his recovery without the stress of potentially missing decisive matches.
Those who work closely with him have noticed a clear difference in his mindset.
As such, during his previous injury, Pedri struggled emotionally and found it difficult to cope with being away from the pitch.
This time, however, his response has been far calmer and more controlled.
Pedri understands that when he returns, there will still be everything to play for.
Beyond the Champions League, Barcelona remain active in domestic competitions, including the Copa del Rey.
Knowing that he will not miss the biggest European nights has helped him put the situation into perspective and avoid unnecessary frustration.
