In a major development, a report from The Guardian in England claims that FC Barcelona have made Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane their top target to replace Robert Lewandowski in the summer.
Lewandowski, 37, is in the final year of his contract at the Catalan club, and so far, there have been no signs that he will be offered an extension.
In fact, the Blaugrana are already understood to be lining up candidates as possible successors for the veteran Pole.
Names like Etta Eyong of Levante and Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid have been mentioned, but it appears that Barcelona are considering raiding Bayern Munich to fill the position.
Kane has been brilliant since joining Bayern Munich a couple of years ago, racking up 108 goals in 113 matches, 23 of which have come in the ongoing campaign.

Despite being 32 years old, the England captain continues to be prolific in front of goal, while his all-round play for the Bavarians has also been top-notch, alerting Barcelona to the possibility of signing him.
Kane has a contract with Bayern Munich until 2027, but it contains a release clause worth £57 million, which the La Liga champions can trigger to sign him.
The striker, for his part, had expressed his openness to sign a new contract with the German giants. However, the possibility of playing for another European heavyweight like Barcelona would appeal to him.
Barcelona signed Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in 2022 under similar circumstances and could very well decide to repeat the trick with Kane next summer.
The 32-year-old would guarantee immediate success for a couple of seasons at the very least, while the Catalans can strengthen their economic position to go after a long-term heir in the near future.
