The powers that be at Barcelona have laid out clear demands to La Liga, to agree to play the club’s upcoming fixture against Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid in the United States of America.
That’s according to Catalunya Radio, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the details of the ongoing discussions between the parties.
It has long been common knowledge across the Spanish media that the La Liga authorities are working to take the organisation’s football global.
One such destination being pushed as a host city comes in the form of Miami, Florida, in the USA.
Specifically, La Liga and the RFEF have been angling to take the fixture between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, scheduled for the 22nd of December, stateside.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the former appear to be increasingly open to such a prospect.
Only, though, under the right conditions…
As per a report from Catalunya Radio, Barcelona’s board have laid out a couple of conditions to La Liga, with one being the most pivotal in talks.
This comes in the form of the demand that the Blaugrana be sufficiently compensated for the clash.
If the December showdown is in the end played in Miami, then Barca will be surrendering their financial haul from a matchday outing at Montjuïc.
Joan Laporta and co, as a result, have made clear that they will require a significant monetary injection, amid suggestions of a potential windfall in the region of €6 million…
