Barcelona make first contact over deal for Bundesliga star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have initiated contacts with the entourage of Borussia Dortmund star Ryerson over a potential joining of forces next summer.

This comes amid an ongoing search on the part of the Blaugrana for reinforcements at right-back.

Hansi Flick are understood to be on the lookout for fresh blood on the right of the club’s backline, to provide cover and competition for the inconsistent Jules Koundé.

A shortlist of options has in turn been drawn up by Deco and the Camp Nou brass.

And as alluded to above, contacts have since been initiated with the representatives of one such player, in the form of Ryerson.

As per a report from German football insider Patrick Berger:

‘FC Barcelona have Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson on their list; first talks have taken place between Ryerson camp and Barça. But nothing advanced or concrete at this stage.

It is also noted that the Norwegian would for his part be ‘open’ to a move away from Dortmund next summer.
