La Liga giants Barcelona have taken steps forward in their pursuit of a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Frontman Rashford is of course currently plying his trade on loan in Catalunya’s capital, from Premier League outfit Manchester United.

The Englishman has enjoyed a fine individual campaign to date, proving himself an important depth option in Hansi Flick’s squad.

All told, across all competitions, Rashford has racked up an impressive 23 goal contributions.

And if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then such exploits appear to have proven enough to convince the Camp Nou board of his deservingness of staying put beyond the summer.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona made progress in talks over personal terms with Marcus Rashford for a potential permanent move this summer. Barça want Rashford to stay but Man United insist: no discount on €30m buy option clause.’
