FC Barcelona are pressing ahead with their search for a new winger to strengthen the attacking unit before the start of the new season.
With Nico Williams backing out of an agreed deal and Luis Diaz seen as economically unfeasible, Marcus Rashford has emerged as the most feasible target for the La Liga champions.
In fact, the Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta, and manager Hansi Flick held a meeting with Pini Zahavi on Friday to discuss the Englishman’s potential transfer.
Building on that, journalist Jorge Picon now reports that Barcelona are making progress in their pursuit of Rashford from Manchester United.
As per the update, Arturo Canales, a trusted agent of the Catalan giants, is mediating the deal and the operation is understood to be moving forward.

The signing of Rashford is seen as a much more affordable option by Barça compared to Diaz, while the player himself is very eager to make the switch.
So, even though there appears to be some resistance from sporting director Deco, Barcelona seem to be motoring ahead in their bid to sign the 27-year-old England forward.
Manchester United, for their part, are ready to part ways with Rashford and have given him permission to skip the start of pre-season to find a solution for his future.
Even though the Premier League giants would prefer a permanent sale, a loan deal with a mandatory buy option could be the likeliest solution. The attacker might have to take a significant pay cut as well.
