Vitor Roque is one of many Barcelona players facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou this summer.

With Barça facing major roadblocks in registering him for the season ahead, many expect Roque to leave the club, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

However, a recent update from Matteo Moretto has offered more perspective on how Barcelona view the Vitor Roque situation.

Laporta halt any action on Roque

As per Moretto (h/t The Daily Briefing), Barcelona president Joan Laporta appears to have halted the club from taking any decision over Roque’s future right now.

It seems the Blaugrana are set to go on an assessment mode, especially with the pre-season campaign set to begin on July 11.

Moretto adds that Barcelona’s plan is for Hansi Flick to closely assess Roque’s performances in the upcoming pre-season campaign.

It was reported earlier that Roque had already started his pre-season weeks ago. The Brazilian had cut short his vacation and already gotten to work, in order to impress Flick.

Flick will give the young attacker to opportunity to prove himself during the pre-season. Based on his performance, his future at the club will be assessed.

Are Barcelona considering Roque’s loan deal?

In case Vitor Roque fails to impress the Barcelona coaching staff, one would not rule out a potential exit from Camp Nou.

However, it is no secret that Barcelona prefer a loan deal for the Brazilian starlet, despite the fact that his agent has clarified that the player is only interested in a permanent move elsewhere.

Moretto suggests that a loan deal for Vitor Roque cannot be ruled out, despite the player’s agent saying otherwise.

But for the time being, both Barça and Roque will be hoping that the player enjoys a solid pre-season and can be a part of the senior team heading into the new season.
