Barcelona meet Jules Kounde’s agent as defender’s future remains unclear | OneFootball

There are two main transfer operations which are generating a lot of excitement among the FC Barcelona fans. One of them is that of Julian Alvarez’s signing from Atletico Madrid, which is still quite complicated, and the other is that of the signing of Rodri Hernandez from Manchester City, which is expected to be completed any day now, even though the Blaugranes have seen their second offer rejected by the Premier League side.

Meanwhile, some of their own players are also generating speculation. The likes of Marc Casado and Hector Fort are already on the market, as they are not a part of Hansi Flick’s plans going into the next season. However, some more established players also have their future at the Catalan club somewhat uncertain.

One such player is the French defender Jules Kounde, who is enjoying interest from several big European clubs, including the likes of Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester City. Even though he reiterated his plan to remain at Barcelona during the World Cup, his exit this summer is not really ruled out.

In such a context, Mundo Deportivo cites Jijantes to report that the Frenchman’s agent, Jonathan Kebe, was at the Ciutat Esportiva on Wednesday and held an informational meeting with Deco.

After having renewed his contract with Barcelona last summer, Kounde remains an important player for Flick. In fact, the German coach is looking to use him as a center-back as well, especially with the departure of Ronald Araujo and the satisfactory performances of Xavi Espart during the preseason.

Still, his future is generating some doubts, and it remains to be seen how it will pan out in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, other reports suggest that Barcelona have already identified the Tottenham defender Pedro Porro as a replacement for Jules Kounde if the Frenchman ends up leaving this summer.
