Barcelona hope to raise funds via sales this summer, and one of the leading candidates to depart is Marc Casado. The midfielder has already decided to leave after accepting that he has no future at the Spotify Camp Nou, which has caused the suitors to line up.
Al Hilal are rumoured to be considering a move for Casado, with Barcelona prepared to include him in a deal to sign Joao Cancelo on a permanent basis. But he could end up moving closer to home, with Atletico Madrid having been linked with securing his services during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Atleti will be in the market for a new midfielder, especially if captain Koke Resurreccion ends up leaving. And if they come calling for Casado, MD have reported that the Barcelona man would be very tempted by a move to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen are also in the race to sign Casado, who’s current priority would be to stay in La Liga with Atleti. A move being made would depend on Diego Simeone’s sign-off, and although it is not clear whether the Argentine would welcome a move, it has recently been reported that Los Colchoneros have ruled out his signing for the time being.
Atleti may well come to the table for Casado later in the summer, but by time, Barcelona will hope that they have negotiated a transfer. They need to keep raising funds in their efforts to make significant additions to Hansi Flick’s squad for the 2026-27 season, with a couple of defenders and a new striker being the priorities at this stage.
It remains to be seen how the situation with Casado plays out, but it is certainly taken for granted that he will leave Barcelona this summer.
