As well as making much-needed signings, Barcelona also have ambitions to move on several unwanted players. Inaki Pena is already gone, and in the coming weeks, they are hoping that Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Casado follow.

Ter Stegen is closing in on a loan move to Ajax, whereas there is much more uncertainty about where Casado will end up. He’s attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, but right now, none of them have spoken to Barcelona about a summer transfer.

A number of Premier League clubs, Al Hilal and AC Milan are those to have been linked to Casado, with the latest being the Serie A giants. They have been offered the chance to sign the La Masia graduate, although reports in Italy (via Diario AS) are now saying that the player himself is not interested in exploring this possible venture.

Casado currently prioritising Barcelona stay

Much has been made of Casado’s situation in recent weeks. There’s been numerous reports that he has accepted that a summer exit is on the cards, although the aforementioned report has noted that his desire is still to remain as one more in Hansi Flick’s squad. The fact that Bernardo Silva is not signing does given him hope that he could still be an option, although the club’s preference is for him to be cashed in on.

Casado has a big decision to make in the coming weeks. It does appear that staying at Barcelona is no longer an option, and if he wants to play regular football, he must find a new club before the end of the summer. He will have his pick of several attractive opportunities, and the question is whether he can select the best one.
