While Barcelona will be busy negotiating player departures for a significant part of the upcoming summer transfer window, one player whose departure they are unlikely to break a sweat about is Ansu Fati.
As opposed to other previous windows where he has found it difficult to find suitors, Fati has attracted concrete interest this time around. It is likely to be a result of the promise he showed in his limited minutes under Hansi Flick.
AS Monaco were the first club to show interest in the young starlet and offered him the promise of European football.
Just when it appeared that his options could not get any better, however, Chelsea popped up on the scene.
As relayed in a recent report by Mundo Deportivo, Fati has made up his mind to move to the Ligue 1 side and is fixed on joining Monaco. He has even communicated the same to his agent Jorge Mendes.

The development occurred earlier in the day when the player and his representative met over lunch to discuss the various proposals on his table and the best move for his career.
As elaborated by the same news outlet, Fati prefers Monaco for their attacking brand of football under Adi Hutter, the possession-dominant style, and the fact that they are in the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona also prefer the player to move to the French club as it will partially recreate the same style of play that the Catalans use – thus providing him an opportunity to improve his finishing and attacking game in familiar territory.
Monaco are pushing for the move and Fati’s decision thus comes as a huge boost to their chances of landing his signing.
The move will likely be a loan with an option to buy for a fee lower than €20 million.
