A surprising transfer could soon unfold between Real Madrid and Barcelona, one that may see Los Blancos benefit financially from their rivals’ plans.
According to recent reports from Mundo Deportivo, it has been learned that Barcelona are closely tracking Victor Munoz, the highly-rated winger currently impressing at Osasuna.
The Catalan club have been monitoring his progress throughout the season as part of their long-term planning, particularly with an eye on strengthening their wide options for the 2026–2027 season.
Internally, the feedback on Munoz has been positive. His performances in La Liga have not gone unnoticed, and Barcelona’s sporting department views him as a player with significant upside.
However, despite this interest, the operation is being described within the club as extremely complicated.
The primary reason lies in Real Madrid’s involvement, as Los Blancos currently hold 50% of the player’s rights, which gives them a major say in any potential deal.
From a financial standpoint, this arrangement could work in Real Madrid’s favour.

Should Barcelona decide to push forward and trigger the €40 million release clause set by Osasuna, Madrid would stand to benefit directly due to their stake in the player, earning an impressive €20 million from the deal.
Osasuna, for their part, are under no pressure to sell. The club has made it clear that they will only entertain offers that meet the full release clause.
Having paid €5 million last summer to acquire 50% of Munoz’s rights from Real Madrid, they are well-positioned to maximise any potential return.
Furthermore, it must be noted that Real Madrid also have multiple buyback clauses.
As confirmed by sporting director Braulio Vazquez, Real Madrid can re-sign Munoz within a three-year window for a fee ranging between €8 million and €10 million.
“If they bring him back, it’s to have him on the first-team roster; it’s not a move to resell him,” he had explained.
All things considered, Barcelona’s interest is real, but they will certainly take into account that this transfer would directly aid Real Madrid financially.
