Barcelona 'monitoring' Luka Vušković as HSV aim to extend Tottenham loan

Barcelona are tracking Luka Vušković, while Hamburger SV want to keep the Tottenham defender for another season.

Sky Germany reports that Barcelona have added the 19-year-old to their summer shortlist. He told Sport Bild in January that he expects to decide his future after the World Cup this summer.

Vušković has become a key part of HSV's back line since arriving on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

HSV are hoping to extend his loan by one more campaign.

The central issue is whether Tottenham will approve another loan, particularly with interest from one of Europe's biggest clubs. A longer stay could also give him the chance to line up with his older brother, Mario Vušković, who is suspended until November for a doping offence.
