Earlier this week, reports emerged from Germany suggesting that Barcelona were exploring a summer move for Borussia Dortmund right-back Julian Ryerson.
The Blaugrana are understood to be looking at the 28-year-old star as a reliable backup for Jules Kounde in the right-back position and have held initial talks over a possible transfer.
However, according to BILD (h/t Mundo Deportivo), reports that Ryerson’s transfer to Barcelona in the summer is ‘unlikely’ despite there being interest in the Borussia Dortmund defender.
As per the German outlet, at this point, the Black and Yellows are not considering the sale of their defensive mainstay as they see him as a key part of the plans.
After all, Ryerson is one of the most-utilised players this season, with only seven players logging more minutes than him so far.

The fact that he is a versatile player and can fulfil multiple roles makes him even more valuable for the Bundesliga giants.
Therefore, Dortmund are not considering a sale, having renewed Ryerson’s contract until 2024 last year.
Barcelona, for their part, are not hard-pressed to sign a new right-back with Kounde recovering his form and Eric Garcia being available as an alternative.
Beyond that, they also have some exciting young talents coming through. Xavi Espart, for one, is rated highly and has been in the first-team squad on a few occasions this season.
Meanwhile, Hector Fort is doing well on his loan spell at Elche and can be an option when he returns at the end of the season.
Moreover, Marc Casado also played at right-back in the cup tie against Guadalajara and could be an option in the position for Hansi Flick moving forward.
